Living Water

We had a meeting tonight at 6:30.  Well, it wasn't really a meeting.  The team of students that's going to New York for spring break came over to The Well House.  We had dinner, a time of worship, and then prayed over the trip one last time.  But that's not really the point of this post...After I finished up my work, it wasn't really worth going back home just to turn around 30 minutes later to come back.  So I took advantage of the little break to prop my feet up and catch up on some reading.  I get several newsletters and things from a variety of organizations, but I rarely have time to read them the minute they shows up in my inbox.  I had time to read two of them tonight, one of which was extremely touching.  It was from Living Water International.  This organization is one of the giving opportunities at Passion, and we partnered with them back in the fall at The Well.  We were doing a series about giving and missions and provided students with a variety  of opportunities to give.  One of those was with Living Water, and our students gave over $3,000 to build a well in a village in Nicaragua!  And this ministry doesn't just build wells though, they take the hope of Christ to these people.  More important than actual water is Living Water, so they will never be thirsty again!  The newsletter that I read today had a video clip from a Christmas campaign that built a well in Liberia.  It is so touching and thought-provoking to see how overjoyed children are just to run clean water over their hands and have as much as they want to drink, whenever they want.  You can watch the clip here.

Tissue Toes

Wednesday, March 2nd...I made a very wise choice Wednesday night when I was getting ready to go to The Well: give my shoes for Ashley's rehearsal dinner a test run.  And I am glad a did.  Of course they fit fine in the store, but after I wore them a little while the toes had this weird dent in them, and they slipped off my heels really bad.  But then I realized a what I could do for a quick fix: stuff tissues in the toes.  And it worked!  It filled out the dent and made them fit snugger.  I actually stole the idea from Ashley; so thanks for that Ashley!

We served communion at The Well Wednesday night.  And the way we do it is have two people stand together, one holding a loaf of bread and the other holding a goblet of wine aka grape juice.   I was going to be serving it with one of our student leaders, Chancey.  So beforehand we were kind of practicing, making sure we knew who was standing where and everything.  I realized that would be a good opportunity to take my picture for the night.  Now, it's slightly ironic that I'm putting Chancey's feet on the blog.  Originally I had no intentions of making this blog public.  I only wanted certain people to see it.   People who would appreciate it and not make fun of it.  So basically, not boys.  For a while none of them even knew about, but once they did, a certain few of them really wanted to find it.  Chancey made it his personal mission to find it, and last week he did.  At first I was upset, but I knew I had to get over it.  I was publishing things on the internet, there was no way it could stay hidden forever.  So, Chancey exposes my "lady blog" as he called it, and then I feature his feet.  He should feel honored...I'm just saying, Chancey...

And here's another one of the elements we set up each week.  Fun, round rugs, cute little chairs, and large
canvas signs.

Go Green

Shamrock studded WELCOME sign.
I love holidays.  All of them.  Not just the big ones like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, but the little ones in between like Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's day.  I said a long time ago that life is more fun when you're festive, and holidays give you a reason to be festive!  At home I have wreaths and flags that go along with the seasons and holidays, and at the office, the M&M's in my candy machine match the holidays.  Which reminds me, I meant to stop at the store to see if they had St. Patrick's Day themed M&M's, but I forgot to.  But I don't think they do anyways, I think everything is already Easter themed. Lame.  Anyways...Since it's March now I can finally put out all the St. Patty's Day stuff.  I was very excited to get home tonight so I could change out all the pink and hearts for green and shamrocks  I changed the little flag outside, the wreath on the front door, and the table cloth. And how appropriate that the whole time I was turning the house green, I wearing fuzzy green socks.
Yay for being Irish in March!

I love, love, LOVE this yellow, blue, and green tablecloth and place mat.

Fuzzy green socks!!!!!

Mug Monday and Soccer Mom in Training

It's Mug Monday again!  I bought this mug last year when I was at Disney World during spring break.  It also happened to be my very first trip to Disney World.  I was so excited!  I knew I wanted to buy a mug, because, well, I'm a coffee addict.  It was just the obvious choice.  I wanted to get a Snow White mug since she is my favorite Disney princess, but I couldn't find one anywhere!  All the princess mugs had like three or four of the princesses on them, but never just one of them.  I was starting to think I wouldn't find anything I'd like, but then I saw this one.  It was green and brown, some of my favorite colors together; it was kind of old school/vintage looking; and Minnie is a classic.  I love polka dots and I would totally where yellow heels!  Also, I love the shape, kind of a slight hourglass.

Another one of my many favorite things about my job is getting to play "soccer mom."  We always have one or two intramural teams playing some sort of sport.  I used to go to the games mainly to take pictures, but I've come to really enjoy just going to watch and cheer them on.  Recently, we've had an Inner Tube Water Polo team, and those games are hilarious!  College students floating around, splashing and kicking like little kids.  Tonight was their last game though.  I'll definitely miss hanging out in the sauna, taking pictures with a fogged up camera, and cheering!

Ugh, my legs look huge and white!
