Today was spent making muffins, packing, straightening the apartment, packing, walking 2 miles, packing, cleaning the kitchen, packing, preparing a devo for the trip, and now this. I realized that I talked in yesterday's post about taking Friday off and packing, but I don't think I've said anything about why. And that's because spring break has just snuck-up on me! We've been so busy lately I haven't even mentioned it. But we're leaving bright and early at 4am tomorrow morning to head to Chicago for The Well's spring break mission trip! There will be 18 students and then the 4 of us staff. When we get in tomorrow evening we'll have a prayer tour of the city, and then we'll be serving all day Monday through Thursday. Each morning we'll be at a YMCA doing something with a children's program, and then each afternoon we'll be somewhere different, doing things at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, food pantries etc. Friday will be our "fun day" in the city, and then we head back Saturday morning! That's a very brief summary of the trip, but I will definitely give you more details and pictures when I get back. In the meantime, we would greatly appreciate your prayers! For safety traveling (we're taking two 15 passenger vans), that our students would be open to how the Lord desires to use them this week, and ultimately that lives would be touched in the name of Jesus!
It was windy here today, but nothing like what we're getting ready to experience!
