Overdue Tradition

They make these cookies in The Grill at Milligan called Buffalo Cookies; they're huge chocolate chip cookies baked and served in a small cast iron skillet.  They're also one of those things you're just supposed to experience at Milligan.  When I was an RA I made a bulletin board for the dorm one time about "50 Things to do at Milligan before you graduate," and eating a buffalo cookie was one of them.  And, believe it or not, I never did.  It's shocking, I know.  For one thing, I'm all about traditions and things like that, and two, I'm really all about some chocolate chip cookies.  I don't know why I never had one; I just didn't.  But tonight I headed over to good 'ole Milli and met up with Kaitlyn, who was in my small group last year and is a sophomore at Milligan this year, and together we split my very first buffalo cookie - two years after I graduated.  And it did not disappoint!  It was thick and crusty around the outside, gooey in the middle, and had a big scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle that soon turned into a melted pile of of deliciousness.  If you live in the area and want to try one, just let me know, I'll gladly go with you to get one!

Before

During

And after.  Couldn't quite finish it.

In the parking lot of the SUB; it's fun to go back!

  1. This looks SO good! I like making these at home in little ramekins - for some reason it's more fun than just eating cookies!
