Salsa and Wedding Shoes

Today Ms. Debbie called the office and asked if I liked fresh tomatoes, because Mr. Bobby had brought home way too many from work and she needed to get rid of them.  I told her I'd gladly take some.  They were very ripe so I'd need to use them right away, so I decided to make salsa, something I've never done before.  Before leaving the office I searched allrecipes.com for salsa recipes, made a shopping list, and then headed to Kroger.  Here's how it turned out...

Salsa
4 large tomatoes, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 jalapeno pepper, minced
1 tomatillo, chopped
salt to taste

Mix all ingredients, using only half of the jalapeno.  Taste, and if you want more kick, add the rest of the jalapeno.

*I forget to pick up the cilantro and they didn't have tomatillos, so my version is lacking these ingredients.

Pretty little jalapenos!

These Tostitos multigrain chips are sooo good!

Overall, it turned out ok.  It wasn't bad, but it could have really used the missing ingredients.  And I made all of this wearing my cute and comfy shoes from Jessica's wedding, which I wore today.  I'm so glad to be getting use out of them other than just one day!

I could not get this picture to rotate, sorry!

  2. Your shoes are so cute! I'm glad you get to wear them again. I've never made salsa before but have definitely been wanting to. Our tomato plant bit the dust early summer though, with no tomatoes so that's why I haven't.
